This year, we started canning String Beans and butter beans in June. We got our first vine ripened tomato in the second week of june, and now are starting to can them. The Corn started coming in about two weeks ago as well, and in early may we had squash. Our potatos burned up, and we had none.
Back in the nineties, a fresh, vine ripen tomato from our garden prior to July Fourth was a rare event.
June temps here set a record with the average temperature a full two degrees above normal for the month of June.
