Hi- I have a friend whose computer died (Dell Optiplex 270, I believe.) I moved his hard drive to a second computer to recover his files. The hard drive is recognized (I have it set up as the slave), and I can access files, however he told me that he has a lot of photos of his two month old daughter on the computer, and I can't find them. I have searched using the Windows function (this is in XP media center edition) and also gone to every directory I can open, and can't find them. There is one directory on the hard drive that I can't open, under the Documents and Settings/Adminstrator. While I can't imagine they had put their files there, I would like to verify. Can anyone tell me how to open this directory? The message I get is that the directory is "not accessable- access denied" so it's not even giving me an option to enter a password.
I have tried booting from his drive, but get a blue error screen, so that didn't work, either.
