For something like this, I would probably use Directory Compare (rated 5/6) or something similar. I've used this app for several years now, to keep backups on external USB drives, etc. It's not elegant (no-nonsense GUI), but should work for your needs. The learning curve might take 10-15 minutes, but it scans ultra-fast, showing you which files are different, and then "mirrors" just the files that have been changed (overwriting them, or many other options).
