Inflation makes labor cheaper for every employer.

The profit margin on a car is actually higher than in the 1970's but the labor is cheaper.

To make $2.30 cents equivilent in 1970, you'd need to make &23 dollars today.

A 1970 mustang :

BASE PRICES
Fastback - $2,771
Hardtop - $2,721
Convertible - $3,025
Grande - $2,929
Mach 1 - $3,271
Boss 302 - $3,720
Boss 429 (extra price) - $1,208

2012

Mustang V6                                        22,995
Mustang V6 Premium                         26,895
Mustang V6 Convertible                     27,995
Mustang GT                                       29,995
Mustang V6 Premium Convertible       31,895
Mustang GT Premium                         33,895
Mustang GT Convertible                      34,995
Mustang GT Premium Convertible       38,895
Mustang Boss 302                              40,995
Mustang Shelby GT500                       49,495
Mustang Shelby GT500                       54,495

But, of course, inflation is Nothing to worry about.

In 1977 I got 2 teeth filled, and one pulled in one visit cot 40.00

Last month I had one tooth filled - cost 560.00
