Many forums have died as people go to facebook and spend their free time chitchatting with their selected friends, rather than braving the unknown of a public forum.

 

It's fun (and safer to one's ego) to deal with the known quantity of a group where you can unfriend someone who disagrees with you, never to see them again.

 

It's simply how people are.
