(NO title edit)/// Sounds like a million viruses to me. I have this Sony Vaio laptop that I changed over to '7' about 1 year ago from 'Vista ultimate'. I took the machine to were I had anything off it that I could strip without losing any programs when I first got it 3 years ago. I loaded from disc 32bit WIN 7, I had to chase down a few drivers, and it ran great. I even figured I would try Microsofts free security(UHOH!?). I swear I never had a problem and I even ran the Malicious tool a few times a month.
Out of nowhere my machine kept freezing up then'windows explorer' would stop and after a bit it would restart. No particular set of parameters, just now and then. Now I have no 'windows explorer' and oh,8 to 12, explorer exe., when I look on the Task Master???? I see others posting Windows and google with this and no responses that doesn't sound insane. I don't want to just re-install, I want to find this bstd for the money, yeah right. No I am just going back to third party all the way, there is a lot more for '7' now. But I thought I would throw it out there and see who bites. Come on Alumni. Reg laptop nothing special, I write on it, that's kinda why I miss 'WE'. I have Chrome 12 something, the current stable one , 'IE9' stable version, and office 2010 and the regs like CC, Glarysoft, Picasa and a blog on 'Blogger' with some 'Google' adsense ads. Oh hey, service pk 1 for home premium 7. Drop a line I'll read it. Thanks
