There are a lot of freeware apps that do this sort of thing. But I'm not sure what the right "name" is either. :-)

A suggestion? ...Get a full site downloader (ripper), and get familiar with it. Then, when you want files -- whether they're pictures, videos, or executables -- you'll be ready. Most will allow you to just download a single page (with the attached files) but sometimes you might want to snag a whole site.

For years, I've been using a program called HTTrack. I've tried a lot of site downloaders, and even though this one's not pretty, I've never found anything close to its performance. There's a slight learning curve, but it's worth it. One important note though -- pay attention to the "included/excluded" file options -- limiting which types of files you want will save you time (and disk space).

It's listed here at NN, but make sure you get the latest version from the developer's site.

If this isn't something you want, please post back. I have a couple other ideas, but I'm pressed for time this morning. Gotta go.
