Have you tried Picasa? I've used it to do fullscreen slideshows before.
I've used Irfanview
I'm not sure if it does svg though.

OK, Picasa won't sho svg.
I tried Irfanview, and it uses a trial version of a CadSoft dll that superimposes a message for you to buy it, for 15 Euro.
