I'm so amused at the outrage at so many on the right that President Obama DIDN'T issue executive orders to confiscate all of our guns. (And yes, I mean "our".)
But that's OK, now they can slam him for his "pathetically weak" proposals instead.

Of course, that won't stop the pundits yammering that the President SO VERY MUCH wants to get rid of the second amendment, because of all the evidence provided by his actions, like... um... well...

As far as zero-tolerance policies in schools.. come on, it's not about guns. Kids get expelled for keychain Swiss Army knives, for giving another teenager an Ibuprofen for cramps, for wearing the wrong color socks...
Zero-tolerance policies, just like three-strikes laws with mandatory sentencing, are just ways to say "I think the people we're paying to make decisions are to fricking stupid to make those decisions, so we must hardwire the decisions for them."
Or... "Nobody lost an election by being perceived as being tough on crime, even if it's some idiotic security-theater bill that will do nothing to increase safety."

Oh, wait, it's the darn liberuls who are against the three-strikes and zero tolerance stuff... We had several "liberal" California Supreme Court justices voted out a while back for not wanting life sentences for spitting on the sidewalk, and now our prison population is so out of control we're broke. We spend more on prisons than schools. And of course the biggest contributor to the "tough on crime" politicians... is the prison guards union.
