Sprell is a simple spellchecking module written in Java for Java-applications. The module is open source and free to use for any purpose. It is intended to be used for web-applications written using servlets/JSP that require spell checking. However, one is not limited to web-applications.  
Sprell spellchecker corrector can do the following:  
Can be used with any dictionary for most roman-letter based languages. Sprell comes with dictionaries for English and Norwegian.  
Check if a word exist in the dictionary (boolean check(String) method)  
Find other similar alternatives (ArrayList lookup(String) method)  
Find other similar alternatives differing only by N errors (ArrayList lookup(String,ing) method)  
Correct the spelling of a word (String correct(String) method)  
Check how similar two words are (int similarity(String,String) method)
