TextEdit is a multipurpose text editor, with built in wizards, functions and other features to help web developers create web pages easier, quicker and with more options.  
 
 
The basic idea of TextEdit was to replace Windows Notepad, which doesn't offer much function-wise.  
 
 
TextEdit's aim was to also provide the user with features to make web development easier and more productive.

Web Page Wizard  
 
Creates and inserts the necessary HTML tags for a web page, to your specifications, into your documents.  
 
 
Database Connection Wizard  
 
Created and inserts the necessary database code for ASP or PHP to connect to an Access or MySQL database.  
 
 
Web Page Templates  
 
Allows you use web page templates that I have created for your own web site.  
 
 
LiveHTML  
 
Shows your web page as you type, in real time preview. This makes getting the perfect image for your site a lot easier.  
 
 
Spell Checker  
 
Does exactly what it says on the tin!  
 
 
ANSI Converter  
 
Converts ANSI code to characters and characters to ANSI code  
 
 
HTML-tag short cuts  
 
Gives you easy access to HTML tags, making web development that extra bit quicker!
